About Us

Prescription Paws is a local Delta Society Pet Partner^® affiliate. Each member has passed the strict screening and educational requirements to qualify for the national program. Locally, we work together to promote animal-assisted therapy and activities ... and share the love of our wonderful pets! All members are volunteers -- we do not charge for our visits.

Our animal partners are our personal pets. We have trained them to work safely and effectively with patients. We visit a variety of patients --- nursing home residents, hospice patients, children with disabilities, hospital patients and more! We also offer presentations to local civic groups, school groups, healthcare facilities and other organizations. We even offer a fun and informative dog bite-prevention program for children!

We are always looking for good teams to join us. Is your animal friendly, confident and very well trained? Do you have time to volunteer and visit healthcare facilities? If so, consider joining us! Find out what it takes to be a volunteer.
